No plans for 'Magic Mike 3' in the works, the creator and star of the stripper films told a heavily female audience.

Disappointing a heavily female audience, Channing Tatum said there are no plans for Magic Mike 3 in the works.

“The third installment will be the show, and I think it has to evolve past these guys,” he said of the stripper movies. “The first one was about Mike, the second one was about the guys and I think the third one is really about man and woman having a conversation about sex and themselves and who we all are. That’s the next step I would like to take with the story.”

There are two stage shows in the works – a proper musical on Broadway and a dance show in Vegas – which will be stylistically different. Though he wouldn’t say who, the Broadway show does have a “brilliant, brilliant” director attached and they are currently working on the script.

“It’s tough, because you don’t want to just come out with all this stuff. We are slowly boiling down [ideas] to see which one works,” he said.

Now that he is producing, Tatum plans on “slowing down the acting side”  and plans to get into directing “soon.”

Working on his new vodka brand, Born & Bred, is a chance to step out of his creative comfort zone. “Once I start repeating stuff I just get bored. I start to not be as connected to it,” he said. “I haven’t really overthought the scope in which I have started to push the boundaries and step out of acting.”

Tatum, who said he’s always shied away from endorsing products, decided to create his own vodka because none of the brands out there appealed to him or his friends with their bottle service and club vibe. He views building the brand more as creating a world that him and his friends would live in. “It’s storytelling more than building an actual brand.”

Tatum will take the creative lead on the brand’s campaigns, and shot the brand’s cowboy-heavy opening ad with a group of friends. “We shoot stuff like this all the time, just not on these nice of cameras, and we hang out in the woods,” he joked.
