Sundance Selects has acquired U.S. rights to Alice Winocour's Maryland (Disorder), which had its world premiere in Un Certain Regard.

The film stars Matthias Schoenaerts as a French Special Forces agent hired to ensure the security of Diane Kruger, who plays the wife of a rich Lebanese businessman. Winocour also wrote the screenplay for the film, which was produced by Dharamsala's Isabelle Madelaine and Darius Films' Emilie Tisne.

"Alice Winocour is a tremendous talent and has crafted a tense thriller that you cannot stop watching,” Jonathan Sehring, president of Sundance Selects/IFC Films, said.

The deal was negotiated by Arianna Bocco, senior vp of acquisitions for Sundance Selects/IFC Films, with Indie Sales Company’s Nicolas Eschbach on behalf of the filmmakers.
