Cannes: Matthias Schoenaerts, Diane Kruger Starrer 'Maryland (Disorder)' Goes to Sundance Selects
The distributor has acquired U.S. rights to Alice Winocur's 'Maryland (Disorder).'
Sundance Selects has acquired U.S. rights to Alice Winocour's Maryland (Disorder), which had its world premiere in Un Certain Regard.
The film stars Matthias Schoenaerts as a French Special Forces agent hired to ensure the security of Diane Kruger, who plays the wife of a rich Lebanese businessman. Winocour also wrote the screenplay for the film, which was produced by Dharamsala's Isabelle Madelaine and Darius Films' Emilie Tisne.
"Alice Winocour is a tremendous talent and has crafted a tense thriller that you cannot stop watching,” Jonathan Sehring, president of Sundance Selects/IFC Films, said.
The deal was negotiated by Arianna Bocco, senior vp of acquisitions for Sundance Selects/IFC Films, with Indie Sales Company’s Nicolas Eschbach on behalf of the filmmakers.
