Denmark's Nordisk Film and Miso Film have signed a three-year production and distribution deal that will see the companies cooperate on both film and TV projects.

The agreement brings together two of Scandinavia's biggest players. Nordisk is the region's leading independent distributor and Miso one of it's top producers, with credits including the hit crime series Those Who Kill -- remade for the U.S. for A&E starring Chloe Sevigny -- and thriller franchise Varg Veum.

The agreement will see Nordisk take over distribution in Scandinavia for all of Miso's upcoming projects, including 438 Days, the new project from Swedish screenwriter Peter Birro -- who penned the script to local hit Monica Z -- and new crime series Vik/Stubo, based on the best-selling novels by Anne Holt.

Nordisk's sales arm, TrustNordisk, will handle international sales on Miso Film's upcoming titles, including Martin Barnewitz' adventure tale Danny's Doomsday and the Danish-language comedy Long Story Short from director May el-Toukhy.

Nordisk and Miso will also join forces to co-develop and co-produce future projects.
