Cannes: Salma Hayek, John C. Reilly, Pete Docter Set for American Pavilion Lineup

The AmPav speakers schedule kicks off May 15.

Director Pete Docter and the cast of the new Pixar movie Inside Out, actress Salma Hayek (who’s starring in competition entry Tale of Tales) and actor John C. Reilly (who is represented by three films at this year’s Cannes – The Lobster, Tale of Tales and Les Cowboys) are among industry figures scheduled to appear at the American Pavilion during this year’s festival.

The lineup of discussions and one-on-one conversations, announced on Monday by Julie Sisk, AmPav founder and director, includes executives from Pixar, Sony Pictures Classics, Paramount, Relativity, UTA, Cinetic Media and Oculus Story Studio, among other, with moderators from The Hollywood Reporter, The New York Times, IndieWire and SXSW Film Festival.

Other panels include the filmmakers and stars of such award-winning films as Krishna, Dope and The True Cost. Topics being covered during the series include The State of the Industry, Casting Directors, American Directors and Producers In Cannes, Film Acquisitions and Genre Filmmaking.

Queer Night, which has become the biggest and only gay dance party event tied to the festival, will take place on May 17, with John Cameron Mitchell, creator and star of Hedwig and the Angry Inch serving as host.
