Peter Hutchings will direct the female-centric comedy The Outskirts, starring Victoria Justice and Eden Sher, for BCDF Pictures.
The screenplay by Dominique Ferrari and Suzanne Wrubel was on last year’s Black List and tells the story of two best friends who, having suffered years of torment under the thumb of their high school's alpha female, decide to unite their school’s other outcasts to start a social revolution.
The cast also includes Ashley Rickards, Peyton List, Avan Jogia, Claudia Lee, Katie Chang and William Peltz. Shooting will begin this summer in New York.
The film was developed by New York-based BCDF Pictures, which produced Bachelorette with Gary Sanchez Productions. BCDF’s Brice and Claude Dal Farra are producing. The executive producers are Lauren Munsch and Brian Keady from BCDF and Victoria Bousis from Bousis Films.
