Cannes: Wim Wenders' 'The Beautiful Days of Aranjuez' Pre-Sells in Three Territories
Based on the play from Peter Handke, the film has pre-sold to Italy, Brazil and Greece.
Palme d’Or winning director Wim Wenders' next film, The Beautiful Days of Aranjuez, has pre-sold in three territories.
Movies Inspired has picked it up for Italy, Imovision for Brazil and Feelgood Entertainment for Greece.
Aranjuez is the next project for the three-time Oscar nominee following Everything Will Be Fine, which premiered in Berlin.
The script is based on the play from Peter Handke in which a man and a woman share their musings on love and freedom one summer night. The couple’s conversation meanders through memories, unspoken desires and passion through poetic dialogue.
The film is a co-production between Paris-based Alfama Films, which is also handling international sales, and Wenders’ Berlin-based Neue Road Movies. Production is set to begin in June.
