Centering on a man who develops a mysterious power enabling him to read women's minds, the film was shot mostly in Cannes.

French director, writer and actor Yassine Azzouz has revealed a number of casting additions to his film Guru.

Shot mostly in Cannes, the film stars Gary Dourdan (CSI), Jimmy Jean Louis (Heroes), Farid Elouardi (Transporter 3), Kentaro (Rush Hour 3), Denzel Whitaker (Training Day) and Azzouz himself, and is getting a private screening at the festival.

Guru centers on a man who, after being dumped by his fiancee, develops a mysterious power that allows him to read women’s minds. Overwhelmed by this unexpected insight, he takes to the internet with a gender-based rant that goes viral and sets him up as a relationship guru. With his new power, he is quickly recruited into a global scheme for a mysterious international corporation.

Steven Adams of Buffalo 8 Management is representing the project at the Cannes Film Festival. The project is produced by Plainview and Irina Productions.

Most of the cast is set to attend the annual gala for The Heart Fund, a nonprofit organization saving the lives of children suffering from heart disease where Azzouz serves as one of the celebrity ambassadors.
