'The Canyons' Trailer: Lindsay Lohan Wants to Keep Secrets (Video)
A new trailer for The Canyons, the buzzy film that stars troubled actress Lindsay Lohan and porn star James Deen, has debuted.
The trailer opens with Lohan's character discussing the state of the film business.
"OK tell me something: Do you really like movies?" she says. "I don't know -- I guess maybe it's just not my thing anymore."
The trailer -- backed by strong, dubstep-like music -- goes on to preview the tormented life of Lohan and Deen's characters, who seem to be dealing with plenty of problems, from secrets to sex tapes.
"I guess I'd like to keep some parts of my life private," says Lohan's character.
Directed by Paul Schrader from Bret Easton Ellis’ script, The Canyons stars Deen as a movie producer who makes films to keep his trust fund intact and Lohan as his actress girlfriend who tries to hide an affair with an actor from her past. After Deen's character discovers the truth, the couple is thrust into "a violent tour through the dark side of human nature."
The film, which will have its world premiere at The Film Society of Lincoln Center in New York on Monday, July 29, has gotten heavy media coverage because of its sexually charged storyline and the fact that the tabloid magnet and a porn star are cast in the leading roles.
The Canyons will hit theaters on Aug. 2 in New York and Aug. 9 in Los Angeles via IFC Films.
