Snag Cara Delevingne's Loose Braid From the 'Paper Towns' NY Premiere
Her easy-breezy style was courtesy of Mara Roszak — and was perfect for the New York City heat.
At every point of the promotion leading up to Paper Towns' debut, its star Cara Delevingne has looked stunning. She is a supermodel, after all. But her edgy-chic look for the New York City premiere on Tuesday night really takes the cake.
Celebrity hairstylist Mara Roszak — whose clients include Emma Stone, Lily Collins and Kate Mara — had a lot to do with that. She created a relaxed braid that, as she says, "was all about effortless, barely there waves, but with an edge. There was a detailed element to the look that still had a casual vibe to it — a fresh take on a braid."
Indeed, consisting of a fully sequined cutout gown and bold red lips, the rest of Delevingne’s look was more formal and glamorous, so the hair provided the perfect "cool-girl finish," says Roszak. To accomplish that, the hairstylist first sprayed L’Oreal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Txt It Tousle Waves Spray ($5) all over, then she curled the model-slash-actress’ hair in sections at a horizontal angle to create natural-looking waves.

Next, the superstylist worked a combination of L’Oreal Paris' Advanced Hairstyle Boost It High Lift Creation Spray ($5) and Blow Dry It Blow Out Longwear Spray ($5) into Delevingne's roots and body for additional volume and texture. Then, says Roszak, "very gracefully pull back hair, and begin a low braid about one inch below the nape of the neck, allowing a few strands to fall at the front."
She secured the plait with a clear elastic, wrapping a strand of hair around it to cover the base. Lastly, for shine and hold, Roszak added a mist of L’Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Hair Spray ($13) and the brand's Advanced Haircare Nutri-Gloss High Shine Glossing Mist ($7). Voila! Hair worthy of a very cool girl.
