Style Notes: Carrie Fisher Shuts Down Body Shamers; North West Rocks $3,500 Fur Coat
The last few style stories of 2015.
Twitter trolls have been bashing Princess Leia since the record-breaking debut of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, wondering aloud if the actress playing her has aged well since her first turn in the role 30 years ago. And Carrie Fisher is definitely not having it. The 59-year-old crafted quite the amazing response on Twitter. "Please stop debating about whether OR not [I] aged well. Unfortunately it hurts all 3 of my feelings. My BODY hasn’t aged as well as I have. Blow us." Pure genius. [THR]
El Nino has finally made its way to Los Angeles, and it brought some chillier temps (a frosty 55 degrees!) with it. But don't worry — firstborn of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, North, was snuggly and warm, thanks to a $3500 fur coat which she sported at the playground on Monday. The stylish tot, who prefers custom Balmain for ballet class, finished off the outfit with Converse, a pink baseball cap and a lollipop. [Vogue]
After hearing feedback from its readers, Women's Health magazine has vowed to no longer use the phrases "bikini body" or "drop two sizes" on its covers. Editor in chief Amy Keller Laird stated in a New Year's Resolution letter to readers that any body is a bikini body, and that any regimen which promised to help women drop two sizes in a short period of time was probably neither healthy nor practical. Watch out, Kim Kardashian, there's a new celebrity emoji app in town. Fetty Wap revealed his own pack of emojis, which features his face, song references ("1738," anyone?), plus a couple trap queens for good measure.[Billboard]
