Cartoon Net wants more 'Adventure Time'
Orders 13 new episodes after strong Monday premiereCartoon Network has ordered 13 more episodes of its new animated series "Adventure Time" following the show's strong premiere Monday night.
The series -- which follows unlikely heroes Finn & Jake, who traverse the mystical Land of Ooo and encounter its colorful inhabitants -- was the most-watched TV show in its 8 p.m. slot among the network's key demos of kids 2-11 (1.7 million) and kids 6-11 (1.2 million). It also was the most-watched telecast of the night among boys 2-11 (1.2 million), boys 6-11 (949,000) and boys 9-14 (677,000) and ranks as the channel's most-watched telecast of the year so far among the 2-11 and 6-11 demos.
"Adventure Time" anchors a new night of primetime comedy programming on Cartoon that also includes "The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack," "Chowder" and "6Teen."
"This is a great start for our diverse array of new animated comedies coming soon from Cartoon Network Studios," Cartoon chief content officer Rob Sorcher said.
