Casey Affleck, Chance the Rapper Have Big Plans for the Rockefeller Christmas Tree in New 'SNL' Promo
The 'Manchester by the Sea' actor tries to get into the holiday spirit.
Casey Affleck and Chance the Rapper try to get into the holiday spirit in the new promo for Saturday Night Live's Dec. 17 episode.
Host Affleck and musical guest Chance try to top the Christmas tree at New York's Rockefeller Center with a star using the tiniest of ladders. "I don't think we thought this through," the actor says as the Chicago rapper whips out his two-rung ladder. "You just gotta believe," says the optimistic Chance. "Believe in what?," Affleck asks before Chance offers, "Uh ... Christmas."
He also defends his ladder choices in the clip after Affleck calls it a "foot stool." "I'm not gonna listen to any more slander about this ladder. You know what this ladder means to me," he says.
This week's SNL will mark Chance's second appearance after performing on the late-night NBC series last year. Earlier this month, the "No Problem" MC asked his fans on Twitter to curate his setlist. "I've been trying to perform EVERY song from Coloring Book on television once," he shared on his timeline. "I've done 5 so far. What do you want to see me do on #SNL?"
Tune in to SNL on Saturday at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
