"Battlestar Galactica" star Katee Sackhoff is set to do another sci-fi project. She will guest star on the pilot for NBC's "The Bionic Woman," a reimagining of the 1970s series that centers on Jamie Sommers (Michelle Ryan), a woman who is turned into a walking technological miracle after a car crash. Sackhoff will play Sarah, an evil bionic woman and nemesis to Sommers. The casting comes on the heels of the recent apparent demise of Starbuck, Sackhoff's character on "Battlestar." Sackhoff is repped by Diverse Talent Group and manager Jamie Freed at the Collective. … Julia Ormond has been tapped to guest star on ABC's action drama series "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," about a suburban married couple, Jane (Jordana Brewster) and John (Martin Henderson) Smith, who are undercover assassins. In a role that Ormond could reprise if the pilot goes to series, she will play Jane's boss, who advises her personally and professionally. Ormond, who had a role in David Lynch's "Inland Empire," next will appear in "I Know Who Killed Me." She is repped by Endeavor and Artists Independent Management. … Jonathan Silverman has been tapped to do three episodes of the CBS drama "Close to Home." In a story line following James Conlon's (David James Elliott) run for attorney general, Silverman will play Conlon's campaign manager. Silverman, the star of ABC's midseason comedy series "In Case of Emergency," is repped by WMA and Untitled Entertainment. … Spencer Garrett has joined the cast of ABC's one-hour pilot "Football Wives," about the lives of the wives of professional football players. In a recurring role, he will portray the tough head coach of a team. Garrett, whose feature credits include "Bobby" and "Thank You for Smoking," is repped by the Stone Manners Agency and Anthem Entertainment. … Lourdes Benedicto has been added to the cast of another ABC drama pilot, "Cashmere Mafia," in a recurring role. In the project, about four successful female executives (Lucy Liu, Frances O'Connor, Miranda Otto, Bonnie Somerville), Benedicto will play the lover of Somerville's character. Benedicto most recently co-starred on ABC's drama series "The Nine." Her series credits also include ABC's "NYPD Blue" and Fox's "24." Benedicto is repped by Paradigm and Bob McGowan at McGowan Management. … Natalie Denise Sperl has been tapped to star in Sci Fi Channel's original movie "Rock Monster," which is shooting in Sofia, Bulgaria. Sperl, whose recent credits include the Comedy Central pilot "Three Strikes," is repped by Nancy Abt at the Daniel Hoff Agency and Matthew Lesher at Insight Entertainment.
