Catherine Zeta-Jones has been treated for bipolar disorder.
People.com reports that the actress, 41, spent about five days in an unidentified facility “because she's about to start working, and wanted to make sure she's in top form, which she is." She is currently shooting the comedy Playing the Field, starring Gerard Butler, as a man who coaches his son’s team and gets involved with some of the local soccer moms. She also has two other projects in the works, Lay the Favorite, a dramedy costarring Bruce Willis and Justin Timberlake, and Dali about surrealist painter Salvador Dali. "After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check in to a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her bipolar II disorder," says her spokesperson. "She’s feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week on her two upcoming films." She is wed to actor Michael Douglas, who was declared cancer-free earlier this year.THR's Daily Must Feeds
