CBGB Announces Third Annual Music and Film Festival
The CBGB Music & Film Festival comes back for a third year to Manhattan and Brooklyn, boasting arguably the biggest lineup of music-related film anywhere.
CBGB, the iconic New York club that has presented the next big thing in music for 40 years, will stage the third annual CBGB Music & Film Festival from Oct. 8 to 12.
Last year's festival premiered with more than 50 music-based films, including the New York premiere of the Oscar-winning 20 Feet From Stardom. This year's event, held at the 35,000-square-foot former warehouse located at Center 548 on E. 22nd St. as well as theaters, clubs, galleries, private spaces, rooftops and hotels from Williamsburg to Times Square, will showcase scripted narratives, documentaries, concert films, shorts, and other cutting-edge cinema, plus music-themed art exhibitions, industry talks, concerts, comedy performances and the CBGB Icon Awards.
"We continue to support emerging and established talent who represent music and film in all their forms. For us, music transcends space, and sharing it with fans in a unique form is something we are very passionate about," said Tim Hayes, CBGB co-owner.
Since 2012, CBGB Productions has been creating live events, such as 2014's historic concert for Amnesty International at Barclays Center, which featured Madonna, Imagine Dragons, Blondie and the first-ever U.S. appearance of Pussy Riot.
