CBS and Europe's RTL Launch Male-Focused Channel in Singapore
CBS and European broadcast giant RTL have launched their second jointly-run channel in Asia, singing a deal to bow male-focused network RTL CBS Extreme HD on Singapore network SingTel mio TV on March 27.
The channel will carry highlights from both networks, with CBS providing series including Hawaii Five-O and NCIS: Los Angeles and RTL delivering show and entertainment content from its FremantleMedia subsidiary, including episodes of Fear Factor.
The channel will also include exclusive and first-run titles including Criss Angel BeLIEve, the reality TV series about the famed illusionist. After the Singapore launch, the channels plans to roll out across territories in South East Asia.
SingTel already carries the more family-focused RTL CBS Entertainment Channel, which features programming including The X Factor USA and America's Got Talent from Fremantle and Elementary and Under the Dome from CBS.
RTL and CBS launched their Asian joint venture last year to target the fast-growing markets of South East Asia. The two networks hope to get the two channels on air in up to 29 Asian markets.
