Report: Howard Arenstein faces jail time, job lossA CBS News radio veteran in Washington, DC faces jail time and the loss of his job after police busted him for growing marijuana in his back yard, the New York Post reported Monday.
Howard Arenstein, 60, has served as CBS Radio News correspondent and as Radio Bureau Manager for CBS News in Washington.
He was at his Georgetown home Sunday after he and his wife, Orly Katz, were released early Sunday without having to post bail, the Post reported.
Acting on a tip, police, acting on a tip, raided Arenstein's home Saturday and discovered 11 marijuana plants in his back yard and six two-ounce bags of marijuana, a police spokesman told the newspaper. The two were charged with possession with intent to distribute, it added.
CBS News officials declined to comment, the Post said.
