CBS pulls 'The Bridge' after three episodes
Canadian cop drama was airing on Saturday nightsTORONTO -- CBS has pulled the Canadian cop drama "The Bridge" from E1 Entertainment after three episodes on air.
"Bridge" co-producer Craig Bromell told the Canadian Press wire-service Thursday that CBS yanked the Toronto-shot series from its Saturday night summer lineup for "reasons of fall scheduling."
"They said: 'We're going to pull the show.' They never said to us they're going to cancel it," Bromell added.
Representatives at E1 Entertainment weren't available for comment at press time.
CBS will replace "The Bridge" with reruns of "Cold Case" at 8 p.m.
CTV, which debuted the Canadian cop drama before CBS finally aired the series on its summer schedule, has ordered a second season of the homegrown drama.
Bromell told the Canadian wire service that the U.S. network paid for all 13 episodes of the first season upfront.
