CBS putting Brand on YouTube

YouTube and CBS Corp. said Wednesday that they have launched the CBS Brand Channel, a central part of the content and advertising partnership between the two companies announced last week.

Content on the channel initially will include clips from "Late Show With David Letterman," "The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson," "NCIS" and "CSI: Miami," as well as archival sports footage and "CBS News First Look With Katie Couric." It can be found at www.youtube.com/cbs.

Last month, YouTube rolled out its first Brand Channel, which saw Warner Bros. Records promoting Paris Hilton's debut album, "Paris." Brand Channels are one way that YouTube, soon to be owned by Google, is trying to make money off its hugely popular site.

In the coming weeks, content added to the CBS Brand Channel will include clips from "Survivor," "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "CSI: NY," "Jericho" and "Numbers"; CBS News, including short videos from "CBS Evening News With Katie Couric," "The Early Show" and "48 Hours"; and CBS Sports, including the analysis of college and professional sports and programming from CSTV.

Additionally, Showtime Networks will have a presence with promotional video clips from its original series "Dexter," "Brotherhood," "Sleeper Cell" and "The L Word."
