CBS search lands Google exec
EmptyCBS Corp. has lured a Google ad sales executive to a key post.
The company said Wednesday that it has named Patrick Keane executive vp and chief marketing officer for its new CBS Interactive division.
Keane will help CBS with marketing on new platforms as well as bring in new advertisers, a responsibility he held during his four-year stint at Google.
"Patrick is widely considered an industry expert in online distribution and marketing, and his transition to an audience company like CBS is a testament to our commitment to partner with technology companies worldwide," CBS Interactive president Quincy Smith said.
Keane was head of advertising sales strategy at Google, where he was responsible for developing and managing the strategic plans and relationships critical to growing Google's advertising customer base.
In addition to working on CBS Interactive's sales strategy, Keane will manage efforts in online research, reporting and analytics as well as competitive research, sales training and search engine optimization.
