CBS Sports aggregates college sites
More than 200 official college athletics programs on boardCBS has created CBS College Sports Media, an online ad network comprising the collegiate sections of CBSSports.com and more than 200 official college athletics Web sites.
Included in the network are NCAA.com, which is produced by the CBS College Sports Network, and the athletic sites for about 215 colleges, also operated by that network, including Notre Dame, North Carolina and USC.
CBS said Wednesday that the network will provide advertisers access to the 18-49 male demographic. The company said sites comprising College Sports Media reached 10 million unique visitors in March and delivered 1.5 billion impressions.
Included in the March metrics are the numbers for NCAA March Madness on Demand, a CBSSports.com production that presented live feeds of 63 games from the tournament. The company said that it attracted 4.75 million unique visitors to the video player during the 2008 tournament.
The network, which offers options for both display and video advertising, has its roots in CBS' acquisition of College Sports Television Network in 2005. This year, the sports media company was absorbed into CBS Sports.
