CBS TV names top sales execs
EmptyThe recently formed CBS Television Distribution Group has found its top salesmen on the domestic side.
Joe DiSalvo has been named president of sales, while Scott Koondel has been appointed executive vp off-network, cable and digital media at the division, which was formed last month after CBS Corp. combined its domestic distribution divisions -- King World Prods. and CBS Paramount Domestic Television -- under one management structure (HR 9/27). CTDG, which is headed by CEO Roger King, also includes CBS Paramount International Television, but the international sales force is separate from the domestic sales group.
DiSalvo had been president of domestic television sales at King World, while Koondel had been executive vp distribution at CBS Paramount Domestic Television.
In his new role, DiSalvo will oversee first-run and off-network sales to broadcast stations. Koondel will be responsible for off-network station sales, reporting to DiSalvo. He also will be responsible for the sale of all off-network and original programming to cable and digital media, for which he will report to John Nogawski, who serves as president and chief operating officer of the domestic entity alongside Robert Madden.
As part of the restructuring, longtime CBS Paramount Domestic Television executive Mark Dvornik will leave his position. Dvornik had been executive vp/general sales manager at CBS Paramount Domestic Television.
Meanwhile, Deborah Bradley, who was senior vp cable at CBS Paramount Domestic Television, will remain with the new entity in the same position, while Chris Rooke was promoted to the newly created position of senior vp digital media. He will relocate from King World's Chicago office to Los Angeles. Both will report to Koondel.
"As we head into the selling season and NATPE, I'm proud to make this announcement solidifying our distribution team," Nogawski said. "As the producer and distributor of the biggest hits in syndicated television, we're confident Joe and Scott will maintain our leadership position as well as help cultivate and sell a new generation of hits."
It's understood that a handful of other sales executives were let go but that the overall layoffs were minimal.
As part of the new structure, five regional sales managers also were promoted: Lee Villas was upped to senior vp, Northeast regional manager, based in New York; John Holdridge was named senior vp, Southeast regional manager, based in Atlanta; Richard Golden will relocate from the Dallas office to Chicago to become senior vp, Central regional manager; Stephen Hackett was named senior vp, Southwest regional manager, based in Dallas; and Christopher Brooks was promoted to senior vp, Western regional manager, based in Los Angeles.
