CFDA Designers Create Google Watch Faces
Lisa Salzer of Lulu Frost, Marlon Taylor-Wiles of George Frost and Cynthia Rowley give the Android-powered devices the fashion treatment.
Android-powered smart watches — Google's answer to the Apple Watch — are about to get a major "face" lift thanks to a new partnership with the CFDA. Designers Cynthia Rowley, Lisa Salzer of Lulu Frost and Marlon Taylor-Wiles of sister company George Frost have partnered with the other tech giant to create custom faces for the growing collection of smart watches.
Each designer created multiple faces for the collaboration with a specific motif: florals for Rowley, digits for Salzer and classic prints like camouflage and leopard for Taylor-Wiles.
The designers also took advantage of the watch technology to create interactive features that do more than just tell time. For example, background colors on the Lulu Frost watch face "change with the time of day, from sunrise to dusk to evening," while the George Frost faces use Morse code to spell out the days of the week and have "hidden digits that reveal themselves as the watch moves on the wrist.”
The faces are now available for download on the Google Play Store.
