Channel 5* Picks Up 'Lying Game'
The Warner Bros.-distributed drama will air on the digital channel from February.
LONDON – Richard Desmond’s Channel 5 has picked up exclusive rights to The Lying Game that it will air in primetime on its digital channel 5* from next spring. The drama series is based on the novels by Sara Shepard about a pair of identical twins who meet up having been separated at birth. When one goes missing, the drama ramps into intrigue and danger for the remaining twin, who has to unravel the mystery of their separation.
Starring Alexander Chando, Andy Buckley, Allie Gonino and Alice Greczyn, the show airs on ABC Family in the U.S.
As part of the same deal 5* has also acquired rights to quirky teen show Gilmore Girls.
The deals were negotiated by head of acquisitions Paul Fagan, who said the shows were “a great fit” for the network.
