Charter ups Michael Lovett to president-CEO
Exec had been COO; CFO Eloise Schmitz leaving firm in JulyCharter Communications, reorganized after a bankruptcy last year, has promoted Michael Lovett to president and CEO effective immediately, the cable TV company said Monday.
Lovett, a Charter executive for seven years, has been COO since 2005. The company said he was appointed CEO after a nationwide search.
Charter also said its CFO, Eloise Schmitz, will leave the company when her contract expires in July, though staying aboard long enough to ensure a smooth transition with the next CFO, who has not yet been named.
Lovett's previous experience includes executive stints at Centel Communications, Jones Intercable, AT&T Broadband, OneSecure and Voyant Technologies.
