Chip Largman Upped to Senior Vice President at Universal Creative

He will be responsible for developing and executing all rides and attractions at the Universal Studios Hollywood.

Chip Largman has been promoted to senior vice president, Universal Creative, at Universal Studios Hollywood, with responsibility for developing and executing all rides and attractions at the theme park and Universal Citywalk.

“His extensive experience and reputation in themed entertainment production, creative development and strategic planning make him an invaluable asset to our company as we continue to build cutting edge rides and attractions,” said Mark Woodbury, president of Universal Creative for Universal Parks & Resorts.

Largman has recently been involved with the thrill ride King Kong 360 3D, which was created by Peter Jackson. He also had oversight of CityWalks 5 Towers interactive outdoor concert venue.

He is currently overseeing a new ride, Transformers: The Ride 3D, based on the Hasbro toys and the film franchise directed by Michael Bay. It is due to open next spring.

Largman was most recently vp of Universal Creative. He started at the studio in 1987 as a project manager on the Universal Studios Florida theme park.

He has also been executive producer of the 1984 Democratic National Convention and the 1986 Statue of Liberty Centennial Celebration. He began his career as a lighting designer for touring acts including Olivia Newton-John, Cher and Bette Midler.
