Chloe Grace Moretz Joins 'Neighbors 2'
Seth Rogen, Zac Efron and Rose Byrne are all set to return for Universal's comedy sequel.
Chloe Grace Moretz is moving into the neighborhood.
The If I Stay actress has signed on to Universal's comedy sequel Neighbors 2.
Nicholas Stoller is returning to direct the sequel based on a script by Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O'Brien. Stars Seth Rogen, Zac Efron and Rose Byrne are all set to return to reprise their roles from the original, which was a breakout hit when it earned $268 million worldwide after opening in May 2014.
The original film centered on a couple (Rogen and Byrne) whose neighborhood was turned upside down when a fraternity moved in next door. The plot of the sequel has been kept under wraps, but it's slated for release on May 13, 2016.
Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver are producing Neighbors 2 through their Point Grey Pictures, along with Good Universe. Cohen and O’Brien will serve as executive producers alongside Good Universe’s Nathan Kahane and Joseph Drake.
Erik Baiers and Chloe Yellin will oversee the project for Universal, while Erin Westerman is overseeing on behalf of Good Universe.
Moretz most recently was seen in YA adaptation If I Stay, actioner The Equalizer and comedy Laggies. The busy actress' current projects include Clouds of Sils Maria with Juliette Binoche and Kristen Stewart, the adaptation of Gillian Flynn's Dark Places, Sony's YA adaptation The 5th Wave and November Criminals. She's repped by WME, T Squared Entertainment and Jackoway Tyerman.
