Chris Brown-Drake Brawl Day 5: New Witness Account Reveals Details of Melee
Meek Mill, who was present when the fight broke out last week, says neither musician instigated the melee.
The Chris Brown-Drake saga continues.
This time, rapper Meek Mill is slamming claims made by musician Kenneth "K-Mac" McCray that Drake instigated the fight by throwing a bottle at Brown at SoHo nightclub W.i.P. last week.
“I never seen Chris Brown or Drake throw a bottle, and I was there,” said Meek Mill to XXL on Monday.
The 25-year-old Philadelphia-based rapper indicated that neither Brown nor Drake started the violence in the club.
"Chris and Drake, them two was there, but it's other people that be around that take shit it to the next level,” he said. From his account, it was everyone else who prompted the melee.
“Things just happen in the club," Meek Mill recalled. "I seen girls in there throwing bottles, all types of shit. All types of people.”
Added the rapper, who made it clear that he has no beef with Drake and said he spoke with Brown after the bar fight: “Chris Brown be in clubs. He be around situations like this. Things get out of hand that don’t mean it’s out of hand with me and him or whoever, not even him and Drake.”
Brown on Thursday tweeted a photo of a chin injury he sustained, which he insinuated came during an altercation with Drake's entourage at W.i.P. Drake has denied any such wrongdoing in the incident, which The Associated Press reports left at least eight people injured.
Reportedly, the feud began over singer Rihanna, who shares a romantic history with both men.
This past weekend, the W.i.P. club was shut down for code violations, and Drake briefly addressed the brawl at a scheduled gig Saturday at Jones Beach.
