MPAA's Chris Dodd, David Rips Join AFI's Board of Trustees
Continuing to engage the entertainment industry in his new role as chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America, former U.S. senator Christopher Dodd has joined the board of trustees of the American Film Institute.
David Rips, president of Verizon Digital Media Services has also been elected to the board of trustees, which will next meet on Oct. 6 in Los Angeles.
Re-elected to the board of trustees are Lisa Arpey (American Airlines), Todd Bradley (Hewlett-Packard, Co.), Brad Grey (Paramount Pictures), Jonathan Miller (News Corporation), Frank Pierson (writer/director and artistic director of the AFI Conservatory), Anne Sweeney (Disney-ABC Television Group), Thomas Tull (Legendary Pictures), Michael Wright (Turner Entertainment) and Roger Enrico (DreamWorks Animation SKG).
The chairman of the 62 member board is Howard Stringer, chairman and CEO of Sony Corp.
Robert A. Daly, former chairman of Warner Bros., is also a trustee and chairs the 21 member AFI board of directors, which acts as the executive committee for the institute.
