The IRS issued a lien against the actress and former Cover Girl model on Nov. 21.
The IRS has issued a lien against model Christie Brinkley for the more than half a million dollars it claims she owes in back taxes.
Records indicate that the 57-year-old has $531,000 in debts to the goverment. She is reportedly worth $80 million, mostly from real estate holdings in the Hamptons, notes the New York Daily News.
Brinkley's spokesperson, Claire Mercuri, told the paper, "Christie Brinkley was surprised to hear that a tax lien had been filed, and has instructed her team to resolve the matter immediately."
Earlier this year, Brinkley made her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in the long-running production of Chicago. Before that, her last turn as an actress was in a 2009 episode of Ugly Betty.
She also recently launched her own skincare line, which is fully vegan. She says of her anti-aging, DNA Renewal System, "I am committed to providing the highest quality beauty products that are affordable, derived from all natural, vegan and paraben-free ingredients, have never been tested on animals, and are delivered in environmentally conscious packaging. Every product offered in my skin care line, I have personally tested and I currently use every day."
