Christopher Lloyd Starring in Indie Film 'The Boat Builder'
The former 'Taxi' driver finds a new occupation as a Merchant Marine captain
Christopher Lloyd will headline the cast of the indie feature The Boat Builder, which also stars Jane Kaczmarek and newcomer Tekola Cornetet. In the film, which marks writer-director Arnold Grossman’s feature debut, Lloyd will play a Merchant Marine captain who, against the wishes of his daughter (Kaczmarek), builds a ship in his oceanfront yard, where he is befriended by Cornetet’s character.
Richard Bosner, who served as line producer on Fruitvale Station, is producing the project, shooting under a SAGIndie contract in the San Francisco Bay area.
The cast also includes David Lascher, Martin Ganapoler, Jessiqa Pace and a number of young local actors that includes Joseph Schirle, Ethan Bartley, Matthew Ronder-Seid, Alejandro Lopez, Lucas Meyers and Shawn Clifford.
Lloyd, best known for Taxi and the Back to the Future franchise, is repped by Gersh and manager Andrew Freedman. Kaczmarek is repped by ICM Partners and Greenlight Management. The Boat Builder is the first feature film for Cornetet.
