Christopher Walken, Alicia Silverstone Cast in 'Gods Behaving Badly'
Marc Turtletaub will the direct comedy about a mortal couple who meet the Greek gods in modern-day New York.
Christopher Walken will play Zeus, the king of the gods, while John Turturro will lord it over the underworld as Hades in the modern-day comedy Gods Behaving Badly, which will mark Marc Turtletaub’s feature directorial debut.
Big Beach co-founders Turtletaub and Peter Saraf announced Tuesday the complete cast of the project, which starts principal photography this month in New York. The movie is based on the novel by Marie Phillips, which has been adapted for the screen by Josh Goldfaden and Turtletaub.
Alicia Silverstone and Ebon Moss-Bachrach are headlining the comedy about a young couple who encounter a full panoply of gods living in a New York brownstone.
The other immortals will be played by Sharon Stone, cast as Aphrodite; Oliver Platt, Apollo; Edie Falco, Artemis; Phylicia Rashad, Demeter; Nelsan Ellis, Dionysus; Gideon Glick, Eros; Henry Zebrowski, Hermes; and Rosie Perez, Persephone.
Producing are Turtletaub and Saraf, with Caroline Jaczko as exec producer.
Big Beach recently wrapped production on Safety Not Guaranteed, starring Mark Duplass, Aubrey Plaza and Jake Johnson.
