Chuck Lorre Signs With UTA
UTA will help TV's comedy king expand his footprint into film, digital media, theatre and other areas.
UTA lures another blue chip client.
The agency has signed comedy heavyweight Chuck Lorre, whose TV portfolio includes The Big Bang Theory, Mom, Mike & Molly and recently departed CBS stalwart Two and a Half Men. Going forward, UTA will help the prolific creator expand his footprint into film, digital media, theatre and other areas.
“We are thrilled to be working with Chuck, whose creativity knows no bounds and whose voice we look forward to expanding across all media,” said UTA managing director Jay Sures, who will lead a team of agents in repping Lorre.
Lorre had been repped by ICM Partners before his agent Bob Broder left to join his production company in 2012. That same year, Lorre inked a new four-year megadeal with Warner Bros, which was said to emcompass film and cable possibilities.
In addition to his more recent half-hour hits, a rarity in today's challenged broadcast environment, Lorre's lengthy resume also includes acclaimed series such as Grace Under Fire, Dharma & Greg and Cybill.
