Cimorelli, Entertainment One Ink Multiyear Content Deal
The Canadian-based producer aims to turn the YouTube queens into film and TV stars
Canadian-based producer Entertainment One has inked a multiyear output deal with Cimorelli to turn the California singing group's YouTube fan base into film and TV success.
The Universal Music recording artists' partnership with eOne already includes a number of scripted and nonscripted projects in development. The Canadian partner will produce and handle worldwide distribution for all filmed entertainment projects resulting from the deal with Cimorelli, which is made up of six sisters from Malibu.
"With nearly a billion views and an enormous fan base around the world, the Cimorelli sisters have created a strong, wholesome brand for themselves in the digital youth programming space," John Morayniss, CEO of eOne Television, said Tuesday in a statement.
"We are excited to work with eOne and take what we've built on YouTube and extend it into film and television," said Cimorelli in their own statement.
