Cindy Crawford Isn't Actually Retiring From Modeling
Her latest Instagram reveals that it's more of a joke.
On Monday, Cindy Crawford made headlines everywhere because of the news she’d announced her retirement via United Airlines’ Rhapsody Magazine. But all those tributes to the great supermodel and retrospective slideshows of her memorable moments may have been premature.
In an Instagram she posted in response to all the fanfare, Crawford made it clear that her quotes were taken out of context. Alongside a black-and-white photo of the almost 50-year-old model in a sexy midriff-and-upper-thigh-baring dress, she wrote, "Every year, I tell my kids I’m retiring. It’s a running joke in our family. And every year, opportunities pop up that really excite me."
She went on, "While it’s true that I’m eager to shift my focus a bit to concentrate on my businesses, friends and family — I’m not making any final statements (not all headlines tell the whole story!)." Crawford added that she’s loved her 30 years in the fashion industry and that they’ve taught her to "never say never." She signed off, "Thanks for the support, I’m so excited to see what 2016 holds! xo Cindy."
