Cinedigm Signs Deal for Chesler/Perlmutter Faith-Based Films

The production company will produce at least four new family films per year for the distributor

Indie distributor Cinedigm has signed a multi-year, multi-picture, first-look deal with Chesler/Perlmutter Productions, the two companies announced Tuesday.

Chesler/Perlmutter will produce at least four new family and faith-friendly films a year for the distributor, which also has acquired rights to 24 catalog titles in the Chesler/Perlmutter library. Cinedigm will have all U.S. rights to the films, including digital, video-on-demand and physical home entertainment.

Recent Chesler/Perlmutter titles include TV movies like Finding Christmas, which aired on the Hallmark Channel last year, and the cautionary tale The Hazing Secret, which Lifetime recently broadcast.

“This deal represents a major expansion of the exhibition/distribution networks we have been building,” Lewis Chesler and David Perlmutter, co-chairmen of Chesler/Perlmutter, said in a statement. “Cinedigm’s unique vision and powerful distribution team support our focus: bringing high quality family-friendly material to all platforms.”

“Chesler/Perlmutter is synonymous with high quality family friendly entertainment,” Bill Sondheim, president of Cinedigm Entertainment, said. “This deal will uniquely address our existing businesses like DVD and VOD while also supporting our emerging distribution strategies with digital channels like The Dove Channel.”
