Cineflix Sells Sky Atlantic on 'Treasure Seekers'
British pay TV channel makes first non-scripted series order for the junk recycling reality "Treasure Seekers" from Cineflix Productions U.K.
TORONTO – More reality shows about stuff: U.K. pay TV channel Sky Atlantic has ordered its first factual primetime series, Treasure Seekers, from American Pickers producer Cineflix Productions' U.K. arm.
The reality series from Cineflix Productions UK follows two designers, collector Paul Liengaard and interior designer Sarah Brunner, as they search Britain for retro objects to be reclaimed or restored.
Sky Atlantic picked up eight one hours of Treasure Seekers, which is executive produced by Nick Cory-Wright and Rob Carey and produced by Ceri Rowlands.
The series has a late 2011 airdate, and will be distributed internationally by Cineflix International.
Since launching in February, Sky Atlantic has filled its primetime schedule with scripted series, including Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones.
Toronto-based Cineflix has gone on from American Pickers on History U.S. to produce a Canuck version, Canadian Pickers.
