CinemaCon: 2012: Cinemark, Regency Add Fandango Paperless Movie Ticket Service

LAS VEGAS—Fandango—the NBC Universal subsidiary that sells movie tickets online and via phone—is adding its paperless mobile ticket service to 1,300 Cinemark screens and 100 Regency Theatres, which will be in place in time for release of The Avengers on May 4.

The deals double the service's reach, which is already in use for roughly 1200 screens through Regal, Reading Cinemas and Holywood Theaters.

It was also recently added at the American Cinematheque’s Egyptian Theater in Hollywood.

Launched in 2010, the service allows customers to get their movie tickets sent to their phones in the form of mobile barcodes.

Last month Fandango and Yahoo! announced an agreement making Fandango the online and mobile movie ticketer for Yahoo! Movies.
