Cinesite adds 3D services to workflow
First 3D project will be the next 'Pirates of the Caribbean' film
Kodak-owned effects house Cinesite has announced the addition of 3D services including 3D movie conversion.
As a first project, the Hollywood-based facility will contribute to 3D labors on Disney's May tentpole "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides."
"Moving into stereo 3D is a natural progression for us," Cinesite managing director Antony Hunt said. "We're developing our services in response to growing client demand, and the high volume of work we've been awarded on 'Pirates of the Caribbean' demonstrates the level of trust and confidence that major distributors have in our capabilities."
Cinesite is upping production staff by 40% and expanding work space by 23% to 37,000 square feet.
"Kodak's continued investment in Cinesite's digital infrastructure helps to position the company as one of the industry's leading providers of 3D workflow solutions," Kodak entertainment imaging president Kimberly Snyder said.
