Cirque du Soleil heads to MSG
EmptyNEW YORK -- Cablevision Systems' MSG Entertainment and Cirque du Soleil on Tuesday unveiled details of their winter-themed production at the Theater at Madison Square Garden, the first permanent address for the French-Canadian troupe in the city outside their tent shows.
"Wintuk" will run exclusively at MSG during the holiday season from Nov. 1-Jan. 6. The show will run for 10 weeks each winter for four years.
"We look forward to entertaining audiences with 'Wintuk' throughout the holidays for the next several years," said Jay Marciano, president of MSG Entertainment.
The show, the first from Cirque made specifically for a family audience, will be produced in partnership with BASE Entertainment. Delta Air Lines has signed on to be the presenting sponsor in a four-year deal. Tickets go on sale Sunday.
The partnership between MSG and Cirque and the broader theme of the production was first announced in November.
