CIS acquires Postmodern Sydney
Canadian FX shop to build new facility in AustraliaTORONTO -- Canadian FX shop CIS Visual Effects Group has acquired Postmodern Sydney to enter the Australian market.
Vancouver-based CIS purchased the high-end feature, commercial and TV effects house for an undisclosed price.
Recent Postmodern credits include the Proyas/Summit Entertainment feature "Knowing" and the Spierig Brothers/Lionsgate feature "Daybreakers."
Key personnel at Postmodern Sydney will remain with the company, CIS said.
The Canadian parent also plans to build a new Sydney facility to house an expanded CIS-Postmodern operation.
Andrew Robinson, managing director of Postmodern Sydney, in a statement said the tie-up with CIS will enable the Australian shop to "help us spread our wings."
CIS operates as a division of Deluxe Entertainment.
