CIS Vancouver names digital studio head

Janet Yale tapped; worked on 'Salt' and 'Zombieland'

TORONTO – CIS Vancouver has named veteran visual effects producer Janet Yale to head up its digital studio.

Yale most recently worked as an indie producer at CIS on special effects for "Salt," "Tooth Fairy" and "Zombieland," among other projects.

Dennis Hoffman, senior vp and general manager of CIS Vancouver, has now welcomed her into senior management, charged with growing and integrating the Vancouver-based visual effects business with satellite Los Angeles and Sydney operations.

Yale's appointment also comes as the British Columbia post and visual effects production sectors endure the impact of a higher Canadian dollar, compared to the American greenback, and rival film and digital tax credits introduced in Ontario and Quebec.
