CJ Olivares Departing Fuel TV
Executive vp and GM will transition to a consulting role as his replacement is expected to be announced this week.
CJ Olivares, executive vp and GM at Fuel TV, is leaving the network.
The executive, who helped launch Fuel TV eight years ago, will transition into a consulting position with a focus on Fuel TV's action sports content. A successor is expected to be named this week.
“CJ has worked tirelessly to make Fuel TV live up to its original mission of providing unique, male-oriented sports and entertainment programming with a distinctive voice,” Fox Sports Media Group chairman David Hill said Tuesday in announcing the news. “We thank him for his creativity and dedication, and appreciate his commitment to the action sports world in which he has unparalleled expertise. He will be missed.”
A Fox unit, Fuel TV launched in July 2003 as an action sports and lifestyle network and has expanded its male-focused programming mix of late.
“As the network continues to evolve, I realize that my passion remains the action sports that were Fuel TV’s core and I now have the opportunity to explore the emerging possibilities in the expanding action sports entertainment landscape,” Olivares said.
Fuel TV currently reaches 26 million households.
