NEW YORK -- Fox Business rolled out another big name in its battle against CNBC, putting former CNBC star Liz Claman on the air with a rare live interview with investor Warren Buffett. (Watch video at left.)

Claman left CNBC this year after a long career. Her noncompete contract expired Monday, the same day Fox Business opened shop. Claman's departure from the Englewood Cliffs, N.J.-based business channel was long rumored to have as its destination the Sixth Avenue headquarters of Fox Business Channel. It wasn't until Thursday afternoon when a little after 2 p.m. she appeared on Fox Business for the first time.

She normally will be co-anchoring with David Asman between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. ET.

Claman wasn't in New York but instead in Omaha, Neb., promoting a live, hourlong interview at 4 p.m. ET with Buffett. Claman has broken stories from Buffett in the past.

Claman's arrival was heralded after 2 p.m. by co-anchors Dagen McDowell and Asman. For her part, Claman said: "It is so good to join the Fox Business family." Asman added, "We are very happy to have her."
