Climate Change Doc 'This Changes Everything' Sets Global Screenings
Screenings will take place in 13 cities.
Climate change documentary This Changes Everything will host special event screenings in 13 cities around the world starting on Sept. 26.
Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth and Fossil Free Berlin are among the organizations joining forces to screen the film in places like London, Dublin and Manila, among others. In Amsterdam, the doc will be projected on a coal-fired power station.
The documentary is based on journalist Naomi Klein's 2014 best-seller of the same name. Klein narrates the film, which is directed by Avi Lewis. Among its executive producers are filmmaker Alfonso Cuaron, actor Danny Glover and Family Guy's Seth MacFarlane.
The film follows the efforts of climate change activists from around the globe, including those on the front lines in places like Montana’s Powder River Basin, the Alberta tar sands and the coast of India.
Screenings will be accompanied by panel discussions with environmentalists and anti-austerity activists. Also, many screenings will be followed by a conversation with Klein and Lewis via Skype, with questions taken via Twitter.
This Changes Everything special event screenings will occur ahead of the U.N.’s COP21 climate meeting in Paris in December.
