ARCLIGHT TAPS GABRAWY

Mike Gabrawy has been named head of production for Arclight Films. Based in Los Angeles and reporting to managing director Gary Hamilton, he will oversee a slate of eight to 10 in-house productions per year, including international productions.

MANPEARL AT MANDEVILLE

David Manpearl has been named vp development at Mandeville Films, the shingle behind "Beverly Hills Chihuahua." Manpearl, alongside executive Albert Page, will oversee Mandeville's development slate and is charged with bringing new material into the company.

AFM SETS PANEL LINEUP

The American Film Market unveiled a series of seminars and conferences set for Nov. 7-11 in Santa Monica. Highlights include "Current Trends in Film Financing," featuring the Film Department's Mark Gill, Screen Capital International's David Molner and the Weinstein Co.'s Lee Solomon.

MEYER ON BOARD

Wendy Smith Meyer, wife of Warner Bros. Entertainment chairman and CEO Barry Meyer, was elected board chair for United Friends of the Children, which helps L.A. County's foster youth. Meyer, a licensed clinical social worker, has a private practice in psychotherapy and couples counseling.

SHEARER HOSTS

Harry Shearer will serve as host of the 17th annual British Academy of Film and Television Arts Britannia Awards on Nov. 6 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel.
