Fallen 'Heroes'

"Heroes" co-exec producers Jesse Alexander and Jeph Loeb have left because of creative differences. The move follows a slow ratings start for the third season, in which "Heroes" has posted series lows. Universal Media Studios-produced "Heroes" continues to be exec produced by Tim Kring and Dennis Hammer, Allan Arkush and Greg Beeman.

LABOR UPDATE

Federal mediator Juan Carlos Gonzalez will head back to SAG's Wilshire Boulevard headquarters Wednesday to meet with the union's negotiating committee. SAG requested the federal mediator to intervene in the months-long stalemate between it and the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers. Gonzalez met with SAG on Oct. 24 and with the AMPTP on Thursday.

GOOGLE MAY OPT OUT

Google might scrap its proposed partnership with Yahoo rather than accept government-imposed antitrust restrictions on it, sources said. A second source said Google and Yahoo could say any day that the deal has fallen apart. Google and Yahoo reps could not be reached for comment.

PROFIT UP 25% AT BSKYB

British Sky Broadcasting bucked the consumer downturn, announcing pretax profit up 25% at £179 million ($287 million) for the three months ending Sept. 30 on revenue up 5% to £1.2 billion ($2 billion). The satcaster added a healthy 87,000 net customers for the period, it said Friday. Still, it posted a 13% fall in net profit to £73 million ($117 million).
