OBAMA SETS PRESS EVENT

The networks this afternoon will carry President-elect Barack Obama's first news conference since his election. Details are still being worked out for what the Obama campaign is calling a "press availability" and not even a news conference. It will be held at 2:30 p.m. EST in Chicago after Obama meets with his economic advisers.

DIVERSITY DAY

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Diversity Committee will present "Diversity in Animation: Beyond the Color Bars" at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The event will be hosted by Nickelodeon and MTV Networks Kids & Family Group at the Nickelodeon Animation Studio in Burbank.

'VIEW' VAULTED

"The View" ranked as daytime's No. 1 program among women 18-49 for the first time in the show's 12-year history during the week ending Nov. 2, averaging a 1.5 rating and 963,000 viewers in the demo.

THE BIG 2-0-0

Dave Chappelle is returning to TV to turn the tables on "Inside the Actors Studio" host James Lipton. Chappelle will interview Lipton for the 200th episode of the Bravo show, airing at 8 p.m. Monday.
