ALL-STAR DUBAI CAST

Dubai's film festival will see Brendan Fraser, Nicolas Cage, Danny Glover and Charles Roven lending star power to its fifth edition. Director Oliver Stone also will be in town, accompanying the Mideast premiere of his George W. Bush biopic "W." Celebrities including Goldie Hawn, Salma Hayek and Laura Linney will be in town for the second annual AMFAR dinner auction, which last year raised more than $3 million for AIDS and HIV causes.

LAMPOON AT 'TABLE'

National Lampoon has acquired the rights to screenwriter J.D. Shapiro's Camelot spoof "Knights of the Not So Round Table." The ICM-repped Shapiro ("Robin Hood: Men in Tights") is set to direct the feature, which is set to begin production in early 2009.

LOSING ITS APPEAL

Former Dubai International Film Festival CEO and founder Neil Stephenson has abandoned his appeal of a $5 million defamation lawsuit against two of the festival's senior officials. Court records do not indicate why the appeal was dismissed.

RAPPER TO BIG SCREEN

Constantin Film has acquired the rights to the best-selling autobiography of Bushido, a pioneer in German gangsta rap. The rapper will play himself in the film, set to begin shooting early next year for a fall release. Bushido has had five gold albums and one platinum in Germany.
