Clouds part for summer
EmptyThe networks' summer schedules got a little clearer Monday, with Fox and the CW announcing moves.
Fox's dating series for overweight contestants, "More to Love," will premiere at 9 p.m. July 28. The plan puts "Love" head-to-head with NBC's "America's Got Talent," typically summer's most-watched series.
The network also said Friday night drama "Mental" will premiere May 29, a week later than previously announced.
The CW lined up premiere dates for reality show "Hitched or Ditched" and the documentary series "Blonde Charity Mafia."
"Hitched" will premiere at 9 p.m. May 26 after the season finale of "Reaper." The new series, which will focus on couples in long-term relationships who haven't married, is set for a six-episode run through June 30.
"Mafia," which follows influential Washington twentysomethings on the social circuit, is set to debut at 9 p.m. July 7 with back-to-back episodes. It's scheduled to run through Aug. 4.
ABC has been quiet about its summer plans, but likely scenarios have leaked.
As previously announced, Monday will open with the return of "The Bachelorette" from 8-10 p.m. May 25, followed by a to-be- determined hourlong show.
Wednesdays will likely launch with Season 2 of "Wipeout" on May 27, followed by two episodes of new animated comedy "The Goode Family" from 9-10 p.m. The show from "King of the Hill" co-creator Mike Judge revolves around a family obsessed with doing the "right" thing.
ABC hasn't confirmed either listing, but both slots look likely. (partialdiff)
